Harvard & Dartmouth @ RPI & Union (3/1/19, 3/2/19)

Re: Harvard & Dartmouth @ RPI & Union (3/1/19, 3/2/19)

RPI could very easily win both games or lose both games.
Earlier in the season, they got robbed of at least a tie with Harvard on a kicked puck that was stupidly called a goal. They absolutely can beat Harvard if they are able to play a good game.
Dartmouth is a game I expect them to win. They blew it when they let Dartmouth score an extra attacker goal and get a tie. At home, I'm thinking they get it done. Both should be good games, though, and I could see both going either way.

I'm not even sure what I'm rooting for in the other ECAC games as I'd much rather a playoff matchup with Brown or Dartmouth than with Union. Sure we beat Union twice and have the ability to do it again, but they are easily the best team out of the 3. If they are on their game, it could be trouble for us. Brown and Dartmouth are both opponents we can beat and are more likely to beat than Union. Will be interesting to see it all play out.

Let's go Red!

Fans on the Dartmouth thread have noted that recently, the Big Green have had a tendency to play better on Friday nights than on Saturdays.

Here are the results of the last five weekends in which Dartmouth played two games:

Fri., Jan. 18 – beat Colgate, 1-0
Sat., Jan. 19 – lost to Cornell, 5-1
Fri., Jan. 25 – beat St. Lawrence, 4-1
Sat., Jan. 26 – lost to Clarkson, 2-0
Fri., Feb. 8 – tied RPI, 3-3
Sat., Feb. 9 – lost to Union, 3-1
Fri., Feb. 15 – beat Clarkson, 1-0
Sat., Feb. 16 – tied St. Lawrence, 2-2
Fri., Feb. 22 – beat Yale, 2-0
Sat., Feb. 23 – lost to Brown, 2-0

If the trend continues, it could be good news for RPI and not so good news for Union this weekend.

We are terrible on Fridays ......

We're not all that good on Saturdays, not to mention a win drought against a certain team...

Not that it impacts these games, but funny to note that Clarkson is 0-4-1 the last 5 Fridays, and 5-0-0 the last 5 Saturdays. Amazing how many teams are bad one night and good the next. Or vice versa.

We need a vice versa for tonight. Beat Colgate!

Chalk one up for the Crimson. 4-1 over RPI. Engineers looked like dead men walking after the first period.
