With all the more consequential matters on Harvard’s plate right now you wouldn’t think they'd find the time to be in compliance with my long-standing directive: ANNOUNCE RECRUITS BEFORE THE FIRST SCRIMMAGE OF THE FALL!!! But they did, which accounts for the remarkable fact that here’s a new, May thread for the upcoming season. Hasn’t happened in living memory.

So, we have a new Biotti, at least one reportedly “plug and play” (Finnegan), the SSM I.V. remains in place (Sproule), and among other FYs we have Izzy Whynot, who puts us back in immediate contention for fabulous roster names.
Moving forward? H--l yes! That’s why we’re also moving on from Shakespeare to Chairman Mao, naturally, infamous for his Five Year Plans. (China is now on its fourteenth.) The Crimson are approaching Year Three. The analogy isn’t perfect, since Bellamy’s goal is to rebuild a program, not decimate an entire population, but my general drift is that she’s about halfway there, and I like the idea of framing my hopes within a manageable timeline. Certainly the post-Stone recruiting aftershocks haven’t occurred with anything like the severity predicted by some.
