Hamline Pipers

Re: Hamline Pipers

I think a lot of people are going to be surprised at the depth of Hamline's forwards this season. Arrigoni and Van Gilder will provide great leadership for a talented group of sophomores in Belisle, Johnson, Stowers, McElhone and Scaterelli. As freshmen last year they each saw limited action with a senior-laden team. However, each of them contributed in different ways and they all have significant Junior experience in the NAHL and EJHL. Also, may be the best crop of new defensemen coming in for any D3 school. Senior Beau Christian now has a ton of experience and should provide good leadership and stability in net. Two very worthy backups will provide some relief when needed. This team should pick up where they left off last season. Will be another fun team to watch!

That all is good and true, but they lost the National Player of The Year! They will be good, but it is always hard to replace a player like Chris was.

Re: Hamline Pipers

SNC had a down year after winning the National Title after the NPOY Kyle Jones graduated. They also did not loose their coach either.

So your point is that SNC will have another down year coming up? LOL. It's hard to go anywhere but down after winning a NC. Just saying ;)

No,

My point is that Hamline may have a big time challenge ahead of them this year after loosing the NPOY and one of the best coaches in college hockey. ;)

Indeed Scott Bell was a great coach and "Smoke" was great player and teammate. They seek to have reloaded well though. Time will tell. Drop the puck already! :)
