Google Voice

I just got my invite after waiting for 3 weeks. Has anyone experienced a problem registering your number? It is telling me that there are no numbers available in the 480 and 602 area code.

Re: Google Voice

It is business related. I conduct 50% of my business in Michigan and 50% in Arizona. I figured GV was the best way to have two numbers in seperate states, but just having one blackberry.

Re: Google Voice

Someone from the forum over on Google just told me that you need to just keeping trying, morning, noon and night. Good lord, that will be frustrating.

All it allows me to do is type in an area code. After that I have to chocse the number. It's to bad they don't just give you a list of available numbers.

Re: Google Voice

Billy, keep in mind you can only forward calls to a given number from one account. So you can't forward calls to your single cell from two GV accounts. I had some grand plans like yours for using GV until I found that out.

Nonetheless I am an avid user of GV. I think it's fantastic, particularly the feature in the web app that you with your own caller ID, then patches the call through to the person you're calling. All outbound calls free!

I was very careful about choosing my number, and yes, there were area codes that were completely unavailable.

I found that gmail accounts received invites quicker than other email services.

Re: Google Voice

Thanks for the help. I was planning on keeping my Michigan number on my blackberry and using the google voice number to forward calls to my blackberry.
