Goalies in a 3-Way Time Share - How often does it happen?

Interesting Trivia...

Through the end of the regular season (37 games), Michigan Tech has regularly played three netminders:
Patrick Munson - Junior (transfer) appeared in 20 games
Devin Kero - Senior appeared in 13 games
Robbie Beydoun - Frosh appeared in 11 games

This feels rare to me that THREE goalies on a team all saw action in more than 10 games. I think a team normally rides one guy 95% of the time or maybe a 1A/1B scenario where two goalies split the games with the 3rd goalie getting mop up duty in a couple non-conference games in either case. I guess the other scenario that could cause this is a coach who has his goalies on really short leashes. However in this case there are 44 appearances in 37 games so that's not too out of line in my opinion.

Just curious how often a D-I teams ends the season with three goalies logging 10+ appearances in a single season.

Fellow alum T.B. found a couple other seasons when this happened with the Huskies, but not in the modern era.
1984-85 Dave Roach 19, Bart "Mudge" Tompsett 12, Darryl Pierce 13
1979-80 Rob Polman-Tuin 13, Darcy Way 10, Frank Krieber 16

Kato flirted with it last year (19-17-9) and it just reminded me of the old NFL adage, “If you have 2 quarterbacks, that means you don’t have any quarterbacks.”

The Nanooks have used three goaltenders in at least ten games twice since the turn of the century.
2002-2003
Preston McKay - junior appeared in 18 games
Lance Mayes - senior appeared in 15 games
Keith Bartusch - sophomore appeared in 15 games
2013-2014
Sean Cahill - junior appeared in 17 games
John Keeney - sophomore appeared in 10 games
Davis Jones - freshman appeared in 10 games

There is a big difference between starting a game and going in in relief. It looks like you are just showing appearances. How many games did each start?

Last season Arizona State had 3 goalies appear in 10+ games
Joey Daccord, started 12 games, 37.5%
Robert Levin, started 13 games, 40.6%
Ryland Pashovitz, started 7 games, 21.9% and also appeared in relief in 3 games

As for teams with 3 goalies starting 10+ games, Michigan did it last season
Hayden Lavigne, started 13 games, 37.1%
Jack LaFontaine, started 10 games, 28.6%
Zach Nagelvoort, started 12 games, 34.3%

Minnesota State also came close
Aaron Nelson, started 9 games, 23.1%
Cole Huggins, started 16 games, 41.0%
Jason Pawloski, started 14 games, 35.9%

My 2016-17 NCAA Goalies workbook has every goalie's game-by-game stats and more.

I once saw three goalies in a timeshare down in Cabo. :)

Comparing having two QBs who are close in stature to having two or even three goalies is comparing apples to hand grenades.
