Cardinals looked a little off tonight against a much improved Middlebury team. Didn't get many breaks or calls for that matter. Ref's let a few obvious Midd stuff go, including a nice 2-handed slash at the end of the 2nd period. Cards were clearly the better team in 1st and 3rd period, but laid an egg in the second and found themselves in the hole. More new faces (some old ones too) in the lineup today and some injuries/illness as well. Mix that all together and there you have it!

STT is the colleghockeystats.net official abbreviation for St. Thomas - WEC for the Eclairs. ELM for Elmira. If we'd all use those, we could all get along

Reporting back from Williamstown, MA

St Olaf 0
Williams did not give St. Olaf many chances until late, except on a few minor mistakes. Except for a few stretches, Williams controlled play. They got a goal in the first on a nice set up, out front and then two more in the second: The first being a nice tip in front(I think) and the second was just a blast that got past St. Olaf's goalie.
In the third, A Williams player took a five minute penalty late, but St. Olaf could not put one in the net.
Other thoughts: St. Olaf had a fair number of fans, maybe 40-50 and they even brought a flute player.
It was strange not seeing Purdy in goal and Scott on D for Williams, but 21 and 25 looked good for Williams.

When you maintain a database of all the DIII/DII teams abbreviations are your friends. I root for NRW, and await their game against MID
