Finlandia

Re: Finlandia

full release:

Hancock, MI – Finlandia director of athletics Chris Salani announced today that Finlandia is changing its leadership direction within the men's hockey program, and has relieved Coach John McCabe of his duties.

"I have appreciated the hard work John and his staff have put into our men's ice hockey program the last four years," Salani said. "He has been a good representative amongst his peers on behalf of Finlandia within the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, however we felt the timing of this transition is necessitated by the opportunity for our men's hockey program to become a more competitive and viable member of the strongest NCAA Division III hockey conference in the country."

The Finlandia men's hockey program under Coach McCabe's four-year tenure has a cumulative wins and loss record of 20 W - 77 L – 2 T (.212 %), and an overall record of 19 W – 59 L (.243) against NCHA opponents. The Lions program finished this past season at 3 W – 20 L – 1 T (.145).

"We will immediately begin the search for a new men's head hockey coach to lead our flagship program," said Salani
