Re: European Vacation - Michigan Tech vs. the Krauts and Arnolds

Any radio broadcast for these games? (Of the MTU persuasion, that is, though listening to an Austrian or German broadcast might be... um... interesting?)

Re: European Vacation - Michigan Tech vs. the Krauts and Arnolds

there started to be a radio broadcast ...

Re: European Vacation - Michigan Tech vs. the Krauts and Arnolds

When was the last time we managed 45 shots on goal in an entire game, let alone through two periods? ;)

Re: European Vacation - Michigan Tech vs. the Krauts and Arnolds

"Brett Olson alone is worth the price of admission...get your season tickets folks."

Let's not oversell it, OK Dirk? :D

Re: European Vacation - Michigan Tech vs. the Krauts and Arnolds

Good effort by Tech today. It seems like MacLeod and Lickteig have really stepped up this Summer. It was also go to see that Gordic has progressed well even though he red shirted most of last season.

Re: European Vacation - Michigan Tech vs. the Krauts and Arnolds

Robinson got some more work in the third to actually earn the doughnut, including a good breakaway stop.

Final Shot Totals: 52-16, MTU

I was really uncertain who might play the right wing on the top line, but I liked the sound of the Royer-Olson-Gordic line.

so what happened (a W, apparently?) I'm in Honolulu and the time zones are seriously screwed up between the game, the broadcast, and where I'm at.

I agree, what time are the games/broadcasts in Central Time? And ppl in the US in different time zones can work from that point much easier.

Basically, Tech dominated the possession game, and Kaufbeuren's goalies prevented the score from being more like 5-0 or 6-0. Dirk was saying that even though they had stepped up their physical game for a North American opponent, and had some talented players, they looked like a team who was still making offseason roster decisions and hadn't had much time to practice or develop line chemistry.

At any rate, it's all uphill from here as far as our opponents' talent level goes. Russell said in the postgame that they are going to skip the morning skate tomorrow (and presumably Sunday as well), to give the guys a little extra recovery time for a mid-afternoon game.
