ECAC Saturday 11/21/09

Re: ECAC Saturday 11/21/09

I left the Brown game after the first period, as Yale led 4-1. I got home after getting some dinner about 45 minutes later, and my friend who remained at the game texted me and let me know that it was 5-3 at the end of two. Now it's headed to overtime.

What a wonderful way to end an already fantastic week  . I get to miss my team come back against a Top Ten opponent.

We won't be in the top 10 any time soon, unless we find a capable goalie. I think it is the senior Blaise's turn now.

Let me explain the difference between being a Cornell fan and being a Brown fan:

Cornell has always and will always be good, so there will always be hope if your team falls behind be 3 goals in the first period and gets about 11 penalties. There is reason to stick around and see your team through.

Brown, on the other hand, has always sucked, and therefore does not instill confidence nor hope for any sort of comeback whatsoever once it is down in a hole. The only reasons you might want to stick around is if you either want to watch the other team and dream that one day, your own team could be that good; or if you simply like pain and depression.

Plus, I was tired and had a migraine. Sue me.

Anyway:
Obviously, this team is different, as it has now mounted comebacks from very large deficits on three occasions (only to fall short all three times...), but it's a new concept to me. I need an adjustment period.

I will definitely not be leaving any more games this year.
