RPI tops the media poll

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Half of the schools received first-place votes, but Yale had the most and became the pre-season favorite – according to the coaches – to take the 2013-14 ECAC Hockey men's regular season championship. The poll was announced at today's conference media day event at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.

It's rare that you see the two poles () differ this much. I'm more inclined to trust the coaches' judgment over that of the media, as the coaches see the players up close.

I put my faith in the Random Number. That guy always seems to perform better than expected.
