Re: ECAC Pick'em Week 2

May I suggest adding a new aspect to the game -- predicting the scores? In order of team predicted to win vs. other team. Maybe count each team's score that is correct, i.e. a 3-1 prediction counts for half if the 3 is correct but 1 is not. See below as an example (these are my actual picks for this round, too). Just a suggestion, might make things more interesting :)

Friday, November 4:
Rensselaer at Clarkson - RPI, GO RED! Score: 3-1
Union at St. Lawrence - Union, Score: 5-2
Quinnipiac at Dartmouth - Dartmouth, Score: 4-2
Princeton at Harvard - Princeton, Score: 2-0
Colgate at Brown - Colgate, score: 4-3
Cornell at Yale - Cornell, Score: 3-2

Saturday, November 5:
Union at Clarkson - Union, Score: 3-1
Rensselaer at St. Lawrence - RPI, GO RED!, score: 4-1
Princeton at Dartmouth - Dartmouth, Score: 2-0
Quinnipiac at Harvard - Quinnipiac, Score: 1-0
Cornell at Brown - Cornell, Score: 4-1
Colgate at Yale - Yale, Score: 5-3

Total goals: 54

I like ibanezist's idea. That's how I pick my total number of goals anyway-coming up with scores.

Re: ECAC Pick'em Week 2

Friday, November 4:
Rensselaer at Clarkson: People on here know my superstition of streaks. Therefore, I am picking a tie.
Union at St. Lawrence: Giving up 6+ goals per game vs. scoring that much on AHA teams? Union by a mile.
Quinnipiac at Dartmouth: Dartmouth.
Princeton at Harvard: I'll take Princeton.
Colgate at Brown: Colgate ftw here.
Cornell at Yale: Clutch and grab still can't beat outright speed. Yale.

Saturday, November 5:
Union at Clarkson: My pick is for the roof to cave in a- oh, can't pick that? Alright, CCT.
Rensselaer at St. Lawrence: The team hasn't lost an in-season game with me there this year. I'm showing up. RPI.
Princeton at Dartmouth: Dartmouth gets the sweep.
Quinnipiac at Harvard: Q-Pac.
Cornell at Brown: Cornell Big Red get the win here.
Colgate at Yale: Since it's at the whale, I will take Yale. (wow, that rhymes)

That is an idea I've been trying to implement. I just have to think of how it would easily factor into scoring purposes. Maybe each poster gets a bonus point for correctly picking the score (for a given game)? I'm not going to introduce it now since I don't want to change the rules after we've started the game but it's a good thought.

Also, your goal total is actually 56, not 54. I will use the "correct" number for scoring purposes.

The HEA Pick 'Em threads used to give a point for guessing the correct winner, two for guessing a tie correctly, and an extra point for getting the exact correct score (ie picking QU 2 - Princeton 5 would have granted 0 points because the score was correct, but the teams were wrong).

This thread / post has a link to the standings that one poster used to calculate score.
