Hey everyone, lugnut92 is no longer going to be posting on USCHO meaning his contests are all no longer running. I asked him if I could take over the ECAC standings contest, and he has graciously agreed. So we can still have that contest this season!
Scoring is unchanged from prior years. In short, you will receive a score based on the square of the distance from your picks to the actual standings (e.g., if you pick a team in 4th but they finish in 7th, you get (7-4)[SUP]2[/SUP] or 9 points). Sum those up for the twelve ECAC teams and you'll have a score between 0 and 572. The entrant with the lowest score will be our winner.
You have until the puck drops on the first game of the season (RPI vs Colgate; Saturday, 1 October at 4 PM EDT) to get your picks in. The reason I'm choosing this instead of the end of October with the first ECAC games is that these predictions are supposed to represent what you think before the season starts. If you get to see 3 weeks of hockey before making a prediction, that defeats the purpose.
Tie breakers are:
Pick correctly the ECACHL Regular Season Champ.
Have the most teams in the correct order of finish.
Have the most top 6 teams in the correct order of finish.
I will flip a coin.
You can change your picks at any time up till the drop of the puck of the first game, just edit your entry on the google form. The reason I'm using a google form is so I can have the contest across a few different platforms.
