Does anyone create maps using Google Maps?

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to search for an address and then add it to my map. When I do the search, it takes me out of editing my map and then when I click on editing my map it takes me back to where my previous marker is. Note - I want to create my own placemarks and not use any from Google.

Feeling very dumb AND annoyed.

Just use the "Fly To" search, then once it has found the place, find the yellow push pin logo near the top of the screen (to the right and down of Help). Click the yellow push pin and bam! The push pin should be created, and all you should have to do is rename it.

What is "fly to"? Don't see anything named that and on a regular search, don't see any pushpins.

Thanks.

I think he's referring to Google Earth. I make a lot of maps w/ Google Maps and in my experience, you should be able to search for an address and you should see several links below the address in the left sidebar (Directions, Search Nearby, Save to). Click the last one and he should give you the option to add it to a map you have already created or to a new map.

Thanks, I did that and then just went in and deleted their marks & replaced with my own.
