The 2022 Maccabiah Games (colloquially known as the Jewish Olympics) saw the debut of women's ice hockey as an event.
Team USA came in second to Team Canada, and NCAA DIII was represented among the players:
Leah Rubinshteyn will be a freshman at Williams. She was the starting center playing alongside Chelsey Goldberg, Northeastern '15 alumna and CWHL/PWPHA pro at her right wing. Goldberg is credited with women's ice hockey becoming a Maccabiah Games event. Rubinshteyn is from Summit, NJ.
Ashley Walden will be a sophomore at Arcadia. She is from Frederick, MD, the home of future program Hood College. Walden was the second-line center.
Alex Bloom played for SUNY Canton through her junior year (17-18) but was not on the 2018-19 Canton roster. Bloom is from Scottsdale, AZ and was the third-line left wing.
Karen Levin graduated from Middlebury in 2008. The Skokie, IL resident was the third-line right winger. Levin was the captain of the Team USA ball hockey team that competed at the world championships in June.
Abi Fuzaylov will be a junior at Chatham. She is from Tampa, FL. Fuzaylov was the second-line right wing in the gold medal game.
Jessie Arons will be a junior at Lawrence this coming season. She is from Palo Alto, CA. Arons was the fourth-line center for the gold medal game.
Tori Bevan will be a sophomore at Chatham this season. She is from Colorado Springs. She was the fourth-line center on the gold medal game depth chart.
Sammi Edelson competed as a Trinity Bantam as freshman in 2011-12. Edelson was on the top defensive pairing for Team USA.
Hanna Gold graduated Augsburg class of 2022. Gold is from Mequon, WI and played with Edelson on the top pairing.
Zoe Dupuis is an incoming player for Nazareth from Glen Rock, NJ. Dupuis played on the second defensive pairing.
Zoey Pellowitz is the assistant coach for Nazareth. She played on the second defensive pairing with her player Dupuis.
Drew Kuretsky will be a sophomore at Arcadia. Kuretsky is from Inver Grove Heights, MN and played on the third defensive pair.
