Denver at SCSU - Friday 1/18/13

Re: Denver at SCSU - Friday 1/18/13

Well, I guess this completes an absolutely crappy sports week here in Denver. I hope to begin anew tomorrow with a DU and an Avalanche win. Otherwise, I'll just go out and get on my photography. And maybe invent a fake girlfriend or something.

Make sure you take some pictures of her ;)

Don't you hate it when the opponents who score , its their 1st or 2nd of the season?

Re: Denver at SCSU - Friday 1/18/13

They scored 113 points last season & Beau only played 10 games

You can stat me all you want, but as a math degreed dude, it's exactly that. Human interaction on the team is a factor I can't ignore. Who knows what it would lead to in actual production on the ice. Personalities play a big factor. Look at the Avalanche with Teamu Salani and Paul Kariya on the same team with the Avs. Avs were paper tigers and ended up screwing some junkyard pooch.

Teo's girlfriend(the pictures he got) lives here in SoCal and went to HS with his hacker.

On to the All Things DU thread. I posted thoughts there. I'm an unhappy, but realistic camper. Is it too early to talk about next year?

Re: Denver at SCSU - Friday 1/18/13

This team relies on DU's D for a big chunk of scoring. When the D doesn't score, the lack of offense from the forwards is more evident. When the forwards aren't scoring the D is taking more offensive zone chances. That results in the odd-man rushes and breakaways that have plagued the team recently. The other thing is DU's breakout has been struggling. This results in players being on the ice too long and getting too tired. They don't recover as fast on the bench after those long shifts. With the short roster, DU has no players that can come in and give someone a break for a night who may be dinged up. Gotta give credit for these guys going out there dinged up but it is hard to be at your best when you are less than 100%.
