Darts

UNH GH

Go Wildcats!
So who else here throws regularly?

A year or so ago I went out to a bar with my cousin, who's an avid Cricket player, and since then I've been way into darts.

I'm not a huge fan of 3/501, not as much strategy involved.

I pretty much only play Cricket, and my dad and I play 3 best of 3 matches almost every night. I've been throwing unbelievable over the past couple weeks.

Case in point, tonight I was down 320-0. My dad was nailing Trip 20's, but I had Bulls, 19's, and 18's closed. I slowly crawled back in, and was down by 3 Bulls, with all of my numbers closed, he just had 15's and Bulls open. I knew I needed to hit as many 15's as I could so I could cut down the number of Bulls I needed.

And then that happened. 9 15's to finish the comeback and win the game.

So, anyone else here play? What's your favorite game? Got any awesome dart stories?

Re: Darts

I got into cricket pretty hard this past year while at school since I went out to the bars much more than in past years. I got to be pretty decent, always fun to play while drinking. No real crazy stories that I can remember though.

Re: Darts

Cricket is awesome, but if you want a real challenge, try Crazy Cricket (electronic boards only). Random numbers pop up at the start of each round. You hit one of those numbers, that number is locked in for the game. If a number is not hit that round, it changes for the next round. So:

Round 1: 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 are the numbers. Someone hits 20; that number is permanent for the game. Let's say no one else hits any of these numbers...

Round 2: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 20 are the numbers. 20 is permanent. Someone hits 1 and 2. They are now locked in.

Round 3: 1, 2, 10, 12, 14, 20 are the numbers. You get the idea.

Bullseyes are always constant.

I should start throwing again.
Best story? On my 21st, which I barely remember (age and other, ahem, reasons): trip bulls (2 doubles) to win cricket. :)

Re: Darts

My buddies and I have played cricket where the targets are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and bull. It was fun, because the only real way to really run up the score was to hit the bull a ton.

I enjoy -01 games when you have to do the double in and double out stuff. Makes things interesting.

I'll agree with the DI/DO stuff. Otherwise, it's "just hit a big number," for the most part. That's why I tout Crazy Cricket. Regular Cricket players are good, as long as they only have to hit those certain 6 numbers. ;)
