Dartmouth @ RPI, Friday, 11/31/29

Ralph Baer

Let's Go 'Tute!
I was going to credit myself with a tie for the Mayor's Cup, but I checked what I did last year, and I counted it as a loss, so I guess this was a win.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, Friday, 11/31/29

We took home the cup, so it was a win.
Lets go Red!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And this year, it's our trophy!
This is a funny weekend: two games but one regular season match. (Is this the Ledyard Bank Classic w Dart and UVM on the slate?)
To avoid confusion, I say let's win tonight and tomorrow's another day.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, Friday, 11/31/29

It looks like I got both the month and the year in the title wrong. :o

But the date is correct. :D

and there is no November 31

The only problem with taking the Mayor's Cup as a win your stats RB, (or last year's game as a loss) similar to counting the first exhibition game as a win, is that the totals just do not add up to the actual season totals. We are 10-12 -2 overall as listed everywhere and in the thread starting statistics, we total up as 12-12-1. I am not a statistical genius, but I am a tad compulsive and that sort of thing would bother me. it just does not seem neat and clean cut. But these are your stats so you can post them in any way you think appropriate.

I also make mistakes. :)

To be honest, the only reason that I post the stats is that I have been doing them for so long, and I believe in tradition, like the band behind the east goal and the Holiday tourney. ;)

We all do. In fact, in post #4, you said the date is correct when I’m sure you meant the DAY is correct.

And tradition is something I wish RPI would believe in a little more. Especially putting the band back on a rebuilt stage behind the East goal.

I meant date, namely the 31. The day is also correct, so I got 2 out of 4.

I also spelled RPI and Dartmouth correctly.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, Friday, 11/31/29

No reason to doubt that Dartmouth is big and skilled, or that they will represent a tough test.

The Big Green have been terrific at home, where they are 7-1-2, but rather pedestrian on the road (3-5-2). Last weekend they lost a close one at Cornell and played to a tie at Colgate. It may also be noted that their one home loss came against Colgate, whom RPI has beaten.

Won't be easy, but RPI has a chance to pick up a point or two in the ECAC standings tonight.

Big weekend to pick up points and begin to work off the 'games in hand' disadvantage.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, Friday, 11/31/29

Not exactly sure why some are calling Dartmouth a big team. I seem to recall them as being rather average in size with only one really big senior forward. But there is no question they are a good team and they have shown that most of the season. This one will not be easy and we are a solid underdog. Hopefully we have a little momentum going and with this being a big celebratory weekend, emotion could carry us to a victory. Go Red!!!
