Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, 12/4

RPI had better come out ready to play this game. It may look like just another game in December, but it is far more than that given our start in the ECAC.
A loss tonight followed by Harvard tomorrow could be the start of a lost weekend without another ECAC game to play for more than a month.
On the other hand, a win tonight sets us up for a more confident game against Harvard and a rebound from last weeks loss.
Confidence is a fragile thing, and a lot will ride on tonight's game.
I fully expect the coach and the team to be ready and show what we are made of.

Lets go red!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, 12/4

You're 100% correct, EHF. Tonight's game could easily be one of those "looking past" games to get ready for the rematch on Saturday. Let's prove that the team was a bit tired after playing 3 times in 5 days (and Hackett playing all 3 had to take a toll on him) and go back to playing Engineer hockey.

FYI, no one (and I mean NO ONE) is allowed to stand on or walk across the logo in the middle of the carpet. That includes players or coaches.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, 12/4

Hope to be able to at least listen to this one. Just a lot of stuff to catch up on today. Dartmouth always seems to be a surprise for us. We win when they are a great team and we lose when they seem to be beaten by everyone else. For at least today, hoping RPI comes out well early and gets a lead of a couple goals before they start giving us our usual number of penalties. If this is a special teams game (and it most likely will be) we better be able to control the faceoffs. If nowhere else, at least deep in our zone defending short handed.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, 12/4

The RPI women lost to Yale 4-1. Yale scored four in the first. RPI's goal was Jaimie Grigsby's first of career and was in the last minute.

I think this game is critical in assessing the fragility of this team. A loss tonight and I fear we will fall into one our our protracted losing streaks just when we were starting to feel good about this team's chances. (I still can't get out of my mind that puke-fest in the third period of game three in 2014 against the Green.) Lets play for 60 minutes and be more responsible in the defensive zone. It is asking too much for the man in between the pipes to have to be the first star of the game every time.

I suspect SA likes this 7D line up when we play a bigger team that is more physical rather than a smaller speedier group. Personally I have liked it all season as long as one of the defensive guys can occasionally jumped into the play. Would like to see this be one of those 'good' Bubela games where we notice him on the ice for all the positive things he can bring to the game and none of the other stuff we sometimes see.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI, 12/4

Just got a text message from CHN that its a final Dartmouth 4, Rensselaer 1 (6:23 PM)

I hope it's just their system that is screwed up and not me. I could have sworn it was a 7:00PM game.

P.S. - Their site shows the same score! But only 0's in the first period and no entries for the second and third. Weird.

What have you had to drink so far this evening?
