Krug is out at Adrian. Heading to the AHL. Heard it here first. Hell of a coach and run. Who lands into this golden ticket as the next coach?

According to the Bakersfield Condors' Twitter Feed, Adam Krug has been hired as an assistant coach. Tried posting a Twitter link, but it didn't work.

I think his "approach" (ahem...) fits the AHL much better than DIII.

Kinda thought that was 5 or 6 years ago and limited to a couple of his players. I remember there was an injury in a playoff game that generated a lot of discussion.

It's gotten much better over the years but I wouldn't say it was isolated to just a couple of his players.

Not at all surprised by this move. Dude’s little brother has his name engraved on the Stanley Cup. He could have similar aspirations or maybe even a little friendly sibling rivalry? He improved a great deal as a HC in his time at Adrian. Best of luck to him.

Huh? Name on the Stanley Cup?

Torey Krug is in fact Adam Krugs brother but he didnt win the cup he was on the bruins when they lost in the finals. he also probably shouldve been been an olympian if the NHL and IOC would get along but thats for a different disscusion

Whoops, my mistake. I thought he was on the ‘11 team. It’s all a blur…

There are several reasons for this. The NHL didn't want players in China because they didn't know if they'd get them back. China was threatening to detain anyone who got COVID while in the country. I wouldn't have wanted my players there either. The Olympics before that were in South Korea, and I think there was a concern with facilities in a country that doesn't play hockey at all. Looks like it will be resolved for the next Olympics in Italy, but Krug is likely not going to be in position to make that team...

I also think money was an issue. Something about insurance or who was paying the costs of the NHL players participating?
