After announcing they were exploring a women's varsity program when they announced their move to a bigger facility, Curry College has made it official. They will have a varsity hockey program starting Fall 2021 that will compete in the CCC Women's Hockey conference. They have begun their search for their inaugural HC.

The Colonial Hockey Conference will become the CCC Women next season, as all teams are full or associate members of the multisport Commonwealth Coast Conference which makes the single sport CHC redundant. The CCC Women will retain the CHC's autobid as they will have seven teams next season (Suffolk leaves the NEHC to play in their mutlisport conference, and WNEU debuts a program). Curry will be the 8th team in the CCC Women's Hockey conference.

For those keeping track, Fall 2021 will have three new programs. In DIII, Curry will be joined Arcadia will debut and join the UCHC (and the MAC, who all play in the larger UCHC) and be coached by former Princeton standout Kelsey Koelzer. There will also be a new DII program as Stonehill College will field a varsity team and compete in the NEWHA. Stonehill has not named an inaugural HC.
