Cornell @ RPI - Friday 12/4/09

Re: Cornell @ RPI - Friday 12/4/09

Cornell penalty number 5-have to do something now before they even up the calls

Re: Cornell @ RPI - Friday 12/4/09

OK, I'm embarrassed by our fans right now, booing and making noise while the group of Cornell fans tries to sing their Alma Mater...

Yeah, I think we owe an apology for that. Booing alma maters is not kosher.

PuzzleGuy, I think you might be mistaken. I seem to recall catching a LOT of flak from that harpy at the X while we sang the alma mater.

You mean the one that was hollering at us even during the Michigan-BC game beforehand? Not surprising.

Re: Cornell @ RPI - Friday 12/4/09

Sometimes you play a pretty good game and still lose-in a low scoring game we just needed to avoid that one pp goal against. A good game by both teams and well played

Re: Cornell @ RPI - Friday 12/4/09

That's 4 in the last 5, but oddly I am not really finding fault with any of the losses individually. Like DrD said, sometimes you play hard and you lose.

Collectively it's starting to become an issue, but it's not like I can't see this team popping back tomorrow. Besides, since we swept the last home weekend, we had a game to give. Hopefully this is the one, but we've got to win tomorrow to stay on pace.

Re: Cornell @ RPI - Friday 12/4/09

Thanks to all who watched the RPI TV stream, whether it be via B2 Networks or Ustream. We set a new record for viewers on our Ustream, with well over 150 viewers. Thanks to all!

We really do value and treasure your feedback, positive or negative, so we'd greatly appreciate if you could email comments, critiques, or criticisms to sports@rpitv.org .

We'll be back tomorrow afternoon at 3:50 PM with coverage of the Colgate vs. RPI game. Hope to see you again tomorrow!

Re: Cornell @ RPI - Friday 12/4/09

As I'm sure you know, this RPI team is about 10x as good as last year's. Nice game; very glad to get the W.

Re: Cornell @ RPI - Friday 12/4/09

How many d men did Cornell loose last year? This is a different BIG RED defense. Seemed like they gave Reds offense much better looks at their goaltender than they have in the last three or four years. Most of this game was played in Cornell’s end.

Cornell did not use the book on RPI. They played their usual clutch and grab game, were less impressive on the back check and adequate on the fore-check when they got a chance to use one. I was surprised by their willingness to give RPI the zone and the lack of pressure on the puck when rpi was on the pp. Scrivens played a great game. For the first time i was really impressed with his play. He probably stopped 12-14 real scoring chances. The one that got him was low and he was screened by his own rd .A nice quick low screened wrist shot. There were three odd man rushes where a crossing pass was the correct choice but in each instance the puck carrier held the puck for the shot. You are not going to beat Scrivens on the short side or on a rebound guys. Those three odd man offensive opportunities were the game.

Reds defense played a very effective game .
