Colgate @ RPI, Friday 1/18/2013

Re: Colgate @ RPI, Friday 1/18/2013

typically Gate team, cheap shotting until the end... Terry Slater and Fridgen are looooong gone fellas!

Refs call a 5 minute boarding call at the end. On paper it will even out the penalty minutes for the game but not the kind of hit you make with 3 seconds left in your own end.

Re: 2-1 rpi

We actually won a game when leading in the third. This one could have gone either way though-far too many lazy passes by us and the defense just did not seem quick in their own end. Kasdorf made the save he had to and held the puck to slow things down at times. We did seem to win a lot of important face offs for a change and played the kind of game we have to-without much scoring offense-a low scoring defensive struggle. Rest up guys-tomorrow we get Cornell.

How can the first 5 minute penalty even out the minutes? You can't add an odd number to an even and get an even.

Wait, math isn't required on this thread. ;)

You understood what I posted-they made the total minutes look pretty even-but looking closely-we got only 1 power play all night. I believe Colgate had perhaps 4. Yet the total minutes on the scoresheet will look close. This is why you often do not get a true picture of how a game was called simply by looking at the final totals. That last 5 minute penalty meant absolutely nothing in the game.

BS calls, typical biased refs. Why do we have to play in this ****ant league...

Not a well called game-a bit too much controversy for my tastes. I still think the no goal call on our power play may have been bogus. I always prefer the games where you just do not even notice the officials. I consider us fortunate to come out of this one on the winning end.

from the overhead shot they showed on the scoreboard I didn't see goalie interference or in the crease. 2nd review the puck did cross the goal but long after the net was dislodged. It sure seemed Hicks was doing everything he could to deny RPI a win...terrible, just terrible. Sure hope we don't loose Haggs for tomorrow.
