Colgate 2025-26

Wow, this thread understandably took a back seat. Congrats to Princeton on their first RS Title, though to read their web page it says they are ECAC Champions. The Raiders will face RPI at home in a one-and-done game. We've had 9 OT games this season, going 4-3-1. Two of those wins were against Princeton and Qpac! Our season could have been very different if our goaltending had been reliable. With Decosse, the program has been in decline. In the playoffs, Qpac has the stingiest goalie and defense, so I see them as the dark horse. But IMO, OSU, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and one other team will be in the FF...probably not Qpac and definitely not any other ECAC team. For now, a trip to Lake Placid for Colgate would be about as much as I dare to hope for. Until then, I may the recruiting improve in net and on defense. We take awful penalties, and our pk is lousy!

Tough year made tougher by being swept by Cornell to end it. That said I think Davis is our goalie for the foreseeable future unless we get someone better through the transfer portal. Hope the new D coming in will help next year. Elissa B has been a nova for us and will be a huge loss but I cannot wait to see her in the PWHL. Borgiel, Pettford and Stewart also big losses in key spots and hopefully those who want to play pro can. Going forward Steph needs to hold players accountable who keep getting penalized or consistently get beat while pinching up in his system. Way too many games were lost this year that could have been won had we kept our composure. Steph has to stop being Mr. Nice guy when what he expects and is attainable is not accomplished.

Just noted we lost Sydney Sawyer via the portal to OSU which is tough because she was a very good D from the best Canadian junior program. It does seem like we have 3 very good D coming in this fall but after this year we could always use Sydney's talents. Thanks Sydney and best of luck at OSU...
