Friday night was certainly a different shade of brown. I think our new Knights got a bit of a learning experience; I'm sure for some it was the strongest and fastest competition they've ever played against.
Saturday was much better though. I actually think they were much stronger than the MSU team and only lagged behind them slightly in speed. Karpowich was outstanding between the pipes.
Now it's on to Niagara, who has the advantage of being a bit more seasoned team. Clarkson should have the size advantage but judging from past Purple Eagle teams, I'd bet they will have good team speed.
I think the teams will all-in-all be pretty evenly matched. Look for the goaltending to make the difference. 3-2 Knights.

The video feed of the waved off goal was horrendous. I didn't see a distinct kicking motion, but after talking to several friends of mine who know hockey better than me, they say it's very easy to redirect a puck intentionally with the skate in the manner that Reed allegedly did it. The ref was right on top of the play, so I guess I'll have to defer to his judgment.
As far as the rest of the game was concerned. First period was exciting. Second period was ugly for the Knights for the first 18 minutes, almost embarrassing. Third period was lackluster on both sides until the last 5 minutes. Clarkson dominated the last 5 minutes and the OT to take the win.
