Re: Clarkson @ RPI, Saturday, 2/6/16

I will be watching the game tonight, but will not be able to post, as I will be watching with a group of RPI fans at my daughter's apartment.
I don't agree with everyone who was looking to place blame on the team for last nights game. They played hard for sixty minutes. Just because SLU came at us in the third period and we had a hard time getting the puck away from them doesn't mean we stopped playing. We kept the puck to the outside for the most part and blocked shots when we could. We had two defensive breakdowns, but that doesn't mean the kids stopped playing.
We are a good team, not a great team. We still don't have a goal scorer that we can rely on, so we have to give the opposition some credit when they play a great game as SLU did last night.
Now lets not get down on these guys, they are going to need our support for the rest of the season.

Lets go red!!!!!!!!!!

When you play in a league that is well known for the counter-attack, you have to be ready for it as a team. We weren't.

That's two losses with no goals. Is this the sign of the annual meltdown?

Let's hope not. But Clarkson's goalie stopped 44 shots last night and only gave up a penalty shot goal against Union, so scoring will once again be at a premium.
Try to get one early on and get the Freakout crowd into the game.

Yes to everything said. We played a very good team and they played very well. We were totally even and outshooting them. In the last 6 minutes our defense was one step too slow (or one second in reaction time too slow) and we gave up two Thompson goals. Everyone who says we did not score, they are right. But neither did SLU until those two lapses. Most teams in the ECAC will make a couple mistakes in a game. SLU did not and Yale did not. That is why we lost the last 2 games. I too hope we can put together a great effort tonight but will not be here to watch.

Rodriguez in for Melanson. DM was likely injured near the end of the game.

Even the Freakout! gift is an homage to years past......They must have had alot of them left over.

Re: Clarkson @ RPI, Saturday, 2/6/16

The RPI women tied SLU 1-1. RPI's goal was by Laura Horwood 26 seconds into the game.
