Con Elliott, Clarksons play by play announcer for 32 years from 1955-1987 died last night. A great announcer. RIP Con.

Re: Clarkson Men 2014-2015

RIP Mr. Elliott, long standing hockey radio announcers which have become an institution within a University are a rarity these days.

Re: Clarkson Men 2014-2015

CCT has had two main radio announcers in my lifetime. First Con and now Bob Ahlfeld.

Funny stories about Con abound in the North Country. One that is repeatable in mixed company is the fact that he never did a game @ RPI in my 5 years at CCT. He could not stand the catwalk out to the radio booth at Houston.

He was your prototypical small town radio announcer. He did CCT men's games, JV games, women's games plus HS games and, if I recall correctly, some town summer softball games. Great guy. Glad I met him and the world is a lesser place now that he has left us.

I suspect that I would have had a similar problem had I been an announcer.

Re: Clarkson Men 2014-2015

As we look forward to 2014-15, the defense will be rock solid, Perry will be the number 1 goalie and with a year under his belt he should be better or equal to last year. Only two seniors in Joe Zarbo and James Howden, the unknown is scoring as underclassmen will have to fill the net

Good article once again. One error that I tried to post a comment on the WAP Site but it did not take. Sam Labrecque is not coming back for his senior year. He is playing in some league up in Quebec I believe.

...playing for Jonquiere Marquis in the LNAH.

Re: Clarkson Men 2014-2015

Labrecque was a healthy scratch the last 7 games of the year, I think he would have had a very hard time breaking into the lineup.....writing may have been on the wall. Article also fails to mention the addition of NHL 5th round pick, Terrence Amorosa (Labrecque's likely replacement).

Booming slap shot from the point, however.

WOOO HOOO .... Season opener vs. Niagara. Certainly have some frosh that lit up the lamp in juniors, let's see what the new and the old bring. Will be interested to see which freshman make the lineup......I am guessing Gervais, Asselin, Vigneault, Amarosa, Summers and Dalpe. Let's Go Tech!

Nice opening to the season with a road sweep. Off to Vermont this week with a home and home. Freshman look good early and the defense is rock solid.
