First: Congrats to Mike Sellitto. Now the story.

Mike Sellitto is a 5" 10", 170 lb forward who has played for the Division II ACHA Florida Gulf Coast University Club Hockey team. Considered a role player and averaging 18 points a season, the 22 year old never let the dream of pro hockey die.

Sellitto sent a hightlight video of himself to several NHL teams. The video only showed hustle, hitting, and grinding play. No goals were featured. He received a call and invitation from the Islanders to attend a mini-camp this summer. The Islanders signed four players from the camp including 24 y/o Matt Duffy a veteran of the AHL and ECHL, 21 y/o Guelph Storm vet and 6th round Florida Panther pick Corey Syvret, 21 y/o Justin Taylor a London Knight vet and 6th round pick of the Capitals and 22 y/o Westin, FL native Mike Sellitto, a 3 year player from ACHA div. 2.

Sellitto signed a 2 way contract with the AHL Bridgeport Soundtigers and Odessa of the CHL.

Congrats Mike.....Live'n the Dream:)

Cool story, and kudos are certainly warranted, though still not quite as impressive as an Oswego journalism major making it to A-SID at one of the more prestigious Vermont Ivy League schools ;)

Re: Cinderella Story

norm is just being norm ... the master of hyperbole and internet links ...

Hey, at least give me credit for once and not offering a <s>footnote</s> internet link, and note, I did say "Vermont Ivy League", not THE Ivy League :p
