Charitable Hockey Game Participants Not So Charitable

Re: Charitable Hockey Game Participants Not So Charitable

Hate to break it to you, but that's nothing new.

The NYPD-FDNY hockey games are the dirtiest, nastiest, most cheap shots hockey games you will ever witness. I remember a friend of mine back in the 70s who used to love going to thoss games in MSG for that very reason. Those games always sold out...

There's a poster on the D3 boards who used to play at Oswego and became a NY fireman who played for the FDNY in those games, and he's had some "interesting" stories to tell us about those games...

Thanks for the interesting background information. This rhubarb made the Canadian National News last night.

I don't think they ever had a massive brawl like that, but the game is usually an "Old Time Hockey" sort of game that would make Howe proud.

The football games between those two are pretty intense, also.

It even made our local 10PM news here - looked like a replay of the Charlestown Chiefs and Syracuse Bulldogs!
