Changing Avatar

SteveP

Alien With an Attitude
Did a search but couldn't find any thread about issues with trying to change my avatar.

Every time I try to either upload a 50x50 .jpg or use one from Flickr I get an invalid file error.

I seem to recall seeing something about this issue in the past, but searching for 'change avatar' returned about 20 pages of search results.

Re: Changing Avatar

Are the files larger than 19.5 Kb by any chance?

I haven't changed my avatar in ages and the v-Bulletin software has been updated many times since, but my recollection is that the software did not tell you what was wrong with a file that was too big.

The one I want to use is only 11K, so it's not that.

I've messaged the webmaster, and await a reply. I've also used the same avatar on another forum powered by VBulletin.

Just a guess, but could it be that you must delete your current avatar before uploading a new one.

Are you an extra member and if so, are you paid up?

They never send me a notice that mine is expired, my avatar just disappears.

Email them at the bottom of your profile page and Board will help you.

I am an Extra member and have never gotten an expiration notice. I emailed earlier today, just waiting for a reply.

Thanks Gurt

No response from the administrators. Do they even check the messages sent their way?
