Could someone out there tell me what to expect for indoor temperature in the Canton College ice rink? We are heading up for tomorrow night's game and were wondering if we need our long johns. Have never been there. Appreciate any info on this . Thanks.

Come on. Cold as the old Potty rink? also, how about Ebin's Hearth restaurant., near Clarkson? O.K?

The arena in Canton is terrible for being a new rink. The only appealing aspect of it is that they still have the old banners from the championships when they were a 2 year school. I worked at the rink for a hockey season and I froze every game so being a warm coat, hand warmers, hot seat, and extremely warm boots.
The Hearth is OK. If you are looking for something else Mama Lucia (Italian) and there is a nice Mexican place on the other end of the area that Mama Lucia is in, both are in Potsdam. Mama's Pizza is really good. In Canton Sergis's for Pizza is pretty good.
I would recommend parking in the back of the arena. It will be easier to get out for that is what I have found.
This place is as Cold as Romney was but with out the humidly.

I don't think the SUNY Canton rink is too cold. Its similar to the new Maxcy Hall. I would recommend Eben's Hearth, its going to be easy to get in and outta there. Wings are great, great selection of beverages, good burgers. Otherwise I would recommend Sergis in Canton or the Cascade Inn which is located on the right, just as you go over the last bridge in the Village of Canton. Good diner food.
Or there's always Arby's in Potsdam....:D

Come on, no recommendation of a good old Canton Pizza Hut dinner, including food poisoning? ;)

The only similarity between Canton arena (the complex is called the CARC Canton Athletic Rec. Center) and Maxy is the seating. You will FREEZE!!!

Arby's is on Route 56 just a little north of the Route 11/56 intersection :D

I agree...but they did not allow themselves to get trapped like in years past and did what was expected ! There was no tying Buffalo this year.

We ended up at Ebin's Hearth and it was very good. Also, very impressed with the Roos athletic facility. It is very modern with lots of glass everywhere! They even have little bistro style tables where you can sit. The basketball court, swimming pool and exercise room were state of the art. Ice rink much like new Maxy but larger.. It was a little chilly but not too bad. But, the Kangsroos are mighty chippy.

Kangaroos facility is impressive. Great potential there for a successful program. Lots of students filtering around and if they put together a good team, those students will sit and make some noise. Ice looked VERY fast, "Roos need some more disciplined players.
