Brown @ RPI 11/14/15

Re: Brown @ RPI 11/14/15

There are bad ties, good ties and even ties. This was a great tie. If i was our coach i think i would bench the entire defense for their play after the first 12 minutes. All season they have had some mistake ridden games but none like tonight. They turned a mediocre offensive team like brown into a powerhouse by letting them set up and control our zone. They missed too many opportunities to clear the zone to even count. But we skate off and still lead the league.

Re: Brown @ RPI 11/14/15

I remember a game at Princeton a couple years back where there was a scramble in front of the Princeton net and RPI put the puck in before any whistle was heard, but the goal was waved off on the ground that the referee thought the puck was covered and had intended to blow his whistle - even though he didn't actually blow it.

That's about the only thing I can think of that might explain why Brown's apparent overtime goal didn't count.

We were there with you and did not calm down in the hour drive home

Not only was the D play bad in front of the net but our forecheck was not-existent at times. Time after time Brown was able to carry the puck in untouched (literally a parting of the Red Sea) while we were mostly dumping and chasing.

Re: Brown @ RPI 11/14/15

That was an absolute bull**** call. And you know what, if that was RPI getting their goal waived, that is all you would see on this thread right now. Flat out bad call, we got a point we clearly did not deserve. Obviously I'll take it, but I'm not happy about it at all. And not because of some pick'em game, either.

i focused on #19 and #24. Both of these boys I like a lot but they both had the worst games i have seen them play and unfortunately it was with both of them on the ice together.

You are correct-but I cannot feel bad since we have been robbed in so many situations that perhaps this is just a bit of deserved make up. Was it a goal? Sure, unless a ref blew his whistle which no one mentioned.

Also, how often did one of their big forwards just skate up the center of the ice and cross our blue line without anyone touching him and then he, as you mentioned, parted the sea and got off an attempt

They were also horrible in the beginning of the season. They should be benched.

The whistle, including intent, came WELL AFTER the puck went in.

Re: Brown @ RPI 11/14/15

I just noticed that this is the third score thread which fishcore has started, and all three have been ties. That is almost as odd as our record vs. OSU which is also three games and 3 ties, but weirdly those three ties were all 5-5.
