#13 (ACHA M-1) Iowa State will travel to Vancouver this weekend for a game with University of British Columbia (CIS). Looks to a very tough match-up for the Cyclones, but a good international experience for their student athletes. This is the second Canadian trip over the Thanksgiving weekend in back to back years for Iowa State. Last years trip to Winnipeg ended with Manitoba earning a two game sweep over ISU.

Agreed it's good exposure for the Cyclones and the ACHA. Doc Murdoch's team got thumped by the Bison last year. This year's team is not as strong, so it will be a tough couple of games against the T-Birds.

This is an interesting matchup a .500 team in ACHA DI, so it'll be interesting to see how competitive an average ACHA team is against CIS teams.

UBC will probably be the toughest competition, Simon Fraser is a BCIHL non-varsity team and Trinity Western is a new varsity/CIS team this season but still competing in the BCIHL this season, only has 3 wins and a loss to ACHA DII Eastern Washington St.

What's worse for ISU is after a three game Canadian road trip this weekend they'll have to deal with #1 Lindenwood next weekend.

If anybody followed the links to both teams rosters they would have seen a familiar name on each roster as Iowa States Brody Toigo got the chance to face off against his brother Nolan of UBC.
