I hate to say it but Bemidji was the better team last night. It's tough, though, because Bemidji sort of reminds me of Mankato. Not in their game styles, but just how the style of hockey they play throws UMD off it's game. They trap up front, making it mighty difficult for us to get decent flow. Did anyone else notice that Bakala gave up only like one rebound last night. We were shooting high on him all night, which caused a lot of pucks to go straight into his glove or body, or they would fly over the net. We gotta change some things up if we're going to win tonight. Bemidji has a good team, and will be a nice little rivalry addition coming in next year.

P.S. That Matt Read fella can play, but I wouldn't put him up there with any of the elite skaters in the league. Good overall player though. Put Fontaine to shame tonight that's for sure.

Bakala is a great goaltender and controls his rebounds well. You will rarely see a puck get dropped out in front of him. They are always directed to the corners or snatched up quickly.

That kid is a good goalies I have been impressed with his play this season.

Too bad FS North couldn't have found a way to make this game part of "Hockey Day in Minnesota."

They love everything that is Minesota Golden Gophers, FSN should have more games from the rest of the state. There are 5 NCAA Division one programs in Minnesota (UMD, BSU, MSU-M, SCSU, Minnesota) Three of them are better than The Gophers...

It is a bit ironic that they call it Hockey Day Minnesota and then ignore four of the five college teams, even when one of them is playing the Gophers. It'd be kind of like when they have Hockey Day in Canada if CBC only talked about Montreal and Toronto.

Good game last night by the Beavs. Too bad my party has to miss tonight's game. We decided to head home this morning rather than make the trip to Duluth and then trying to get home tomorrow. But I will hook the laptop up to the big screen and catch the B2 feed tonight!

GO GREEN! GET THE SWEEP!!!

It would've been nice to cut one of the high school games and have the Minnesota-SCSU game, UMD-BSU, the Wild, a MIAC game as St. Thomas and Hamline are playing today, then if you want to, a girls/women's game.

Driving through the rain and snow was well worth it last night! That was one heck of a game and I thought it was a hard faught battle till the end by both teams. It was great to be wearing Green and White at the game! The Beavers definately found something in the third to boost them up!

That was the best I've ever felt after being swept.... Excited for you guys sweeping the current #1 team in the WCHA in your last season in the CHA. I know Bemidji has been wanting in to the WCHA for years and has been overlooked many years

...and we're still #1 :) for now... tough schedule ahead. I hope BSU is that good and UMD can remain on that hot-streak

did anyone happen to get a picture of the bulldog on the ice before the game for the puck drop? would love to see that.


not quite sure even Jack Hanna could train a beaver to drop the puck in time for the opening of the new arena

Just want to say congrats to the Beavers on the weekend. Seemed a fitting end to the non-conference battles (at least for the forseeable future) between the two teams. Hopefully once we start getting points for the games, BSU's dominance can end :)
