Badger fans - football tickets question

I am considering going to Saturday's game, and I am seeing a number of student tickets listed at reasonable prices, and others listed at inflated prices. I've also seen something about student vouchers. If I can get student tickets in hand, will I be asked for a student ID? I highly doubt a voucher will be of any use to me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Badger fans - football tickets question

You can't get a student section ticket in hand until you enter the stadium with a voucher. Read the distribution policy here:

http://www.uwbadgers.com/tickets/fb-student-tickets.html#gameday

They've had this system in place since 2005 or so, and I can't remember ever needing my id when I showed up while I was a student. I haven't been in the student section since graduating.

Essentially, the voucher is the only thing they can sell you, because no one has a student ticket until they're entering the stadium on game day. What this means for you is that you're basically garaunteed great seats. There are maybe two hundred students in the entire University that actually give a **** about football, so as long as you're showing up before kickoff, you'll probably get really good seats. The rest of them prefer not to show up until **** near halftime.

Re: Badger fans - football tickets question

Can anybody else verify that you don't need a student ID as long as you have the voucher? I would really hate to spend the money and get screwed.

Re: Badger fans - football tickets question

I've never, ever been checked.

How old are you? So long as you're not so obviously old to even be a grad student, you're fine. The security folks don't care.

If you get asked (which I highly doubt), you're a grad student and you forgot your student ID.

Re: Badger fans - football tickets question

I'm 29, but still usually get carded for booze, so I'm thinking I could easily passs for a grad student.

Re: Badger fans - football tickets question

You'll be fine. I'll be doing the same thing.

Hell, we usually bring my buddy's 12 year old brother with us.

Re: Badger fans - football tickets question

I've been to three games this year using the student "voucher/ticket" and have had no worries...no questions at all. I'm 33 btw...

Re: Badger fans - football tickets question

Thanks everyone, you've put me at ease. This Spartan fan will enjoy watching the Badgers pound the **** out of the Wolverines tomorrow.
