Atlantic Hockey Women's Pick the Standings 2025-2026 *PSUfan Edition*

Atlantic Hockey Women's Pick the Standings 2024-25 *PSUfan Edition*

PSUfan! PSUfan! PSUfan! Can you do it again?

And does any want to rip PSUfan from their throne?

If so, make sure to get your picks in.

Just rank your teams from 1 to 7 in how you feel they will finish the regular season.

Copy and paste this list, keeping them in alphabetical order, and provide the ranking you think each team will end the regular season. Just replace the alphabetical order number with your predicted ranking:

1 - Delaware
2 - Lindenwood
3 - Mercyhurst
4 - Penn State
5 - RIT
6 - Robert Morris
7 - Syracuse

Scoring is fairly simple. In short, you will receive a score based on the square of the distance from your picks to the actual standings (e.g., if you pick a team in 4th but they finish in 7th, you get (7-4) Squared or 9 points). Sum those up for the six teams and the entrant with the lowest score will be our winner.
You have until the puck drops on

at 2:59 PM EDT to get your picks in.

Tie breakers are:
Pick correctly the Atlantic Hockey Regular Season Champ.
Have the most teams in the correct order of finish.
Have the most top 4 teams in the correct order of finish.
I will flip a coin.

PRIZE: Your name will be included in next year's Title of the competition as the defending champion

A prize that keeps on giving all year round!

The AHA is always such a crapshoot from #3 to the bottom, but I'll throw my wild guesses into the mix.

There's no reason to believe Penn State won't win the conference again this season. The senior scorers are all back for one last run, stellar senior goalie Katie Desa is back, and there are some projected hotshot freshmen on the roster this season. Of course, Tessa Janecke is back for her final season at Penn State, too, so this is potentially one of their best seasons coming up. The biggest challenge will be at defense, with only two seniors returning, no juniors, and everyone else on defense being underclassmen.

You know Mercyhurst isn't going to just hand it to Penn State, but I think Mercyhurst is in a sort of rebuilding phase. Still, they're going to give Penn State everything they have, as they always do, but I don't think it will be enough to take Penn State down this season. A very solid second place for them.

The rest? It's anybody's guess, as usual. I do think RIT has shown one of the strongest upward trends the past couple seasons, so I think they could finish in third place, but they will be battling Syracuse for it. It would be nice to have a solid fight for all three top spots in the conference, and that's probably coming next season when Penn State loses this senior class. For this season, I think third place is there for RIT.

I don't know squat about Robert Morris, Syracuse, Lindenwood, or Delaware in their inaugural season, so who knows? I'd love to put Delaware in sixth place, just out of respect for Allison Coomey, but that might be a bit much to expect for their first D-1 season. However, Robert Morris was absolutely dismal last season, so maybe Coomey can keep them down this season, too, and take a spot away. I do hope Delaware does really well and adds some competition to the AHA, and the sooner the better.

I have to try to defend my title! I agree with Zed that Penn State and Mercyhurst are the obvious favorites to go 1-2 and then it's much less clear after that. Going to put Delaware in at #6 and I'm looking forward to seeing them play!

6 - Delaware
7 - Lindenwood
2 - Mercyhurst
1 - Penn State
3 - RIT
5 - Robert Morris
4 - Syracuse

Delaware is lucky to have Allison Coomey at head coach to start their D-1 program, with all her experience at Penn State and Team USA (and BU). I'd love to see them jump both Lindenwood and Robert Morris in this inaugural season, and maybe put a spark in both of them. Syracuse took a nosedive after Paul Flanagan left, but they turned third place into a battle with RIT, and that's good to see.

Lindenwood is such a weird piece of the AHA...everyone else is in PA, NY, and now Delaware...and then there's Lindenwood, out there in Missouri. It wouldn't break my heart to see them jump conferences to who cares where.
