Atlantic Hockey Pick the Standings Contest 2019-2020

Half the season is gone, so we are just going to process this for the remainder of the year. Enjoy yourself. Your prize is your name written at the top of this post next season. Very prestigious.

Here is how it will work. The following is plagerized:

Pick the Atlantic Hockey Standings at the end of the 2019-20 season in order from 1-11 (no ties). Playoff seedings determine the position of the teams in case of a regular season tie.

Scoring is as follows: You will receive a score based on the square of the distance from your picks to the actual standings (e.g., if you pick a team in 4th but they finish in 7th, you get (7-4)2 or 9 points). Sum those up for the eleven Atlantic Hockey teams and you'll have a score between 0 and 440. The entrant with the lowest score will be our winner.

You have until December 13th, at 1:04PM, just before the Niagara v. AIC game, to get your picks in.

Tie breakers are:

Pick correctly the Atlantic Hockey Regular Season Champ.
Have the most teams in the correct order of finish.
Have the most top 6 teams in the correct order of finish.
I will flip a coin.

You can change your picks at any time up till the drop of the puck on December 13th, however DO NOT EDIT THE ORIGINAL PICKS. Just put up a new post with your change.

I look forward to participating with the 3 people that may see this.

Ugh, math and typing! I see you used acronyms and full names, is that even allowed? Once I can remember my USCHO password, I’ll be the second person to guess the impossible due to homer picks and sheer stupidity on my part.

I have had to ask the administrator over 5 times to renew my status because of forgetting my password over 18 years.

In other news, just to compete against myself, I am going to see how far off my original October picks are compared to the "more informed picks" of this weekend.

Consensus seems to be forming around Sacred Heart and Canisius sticking to where they are.

The middle of the pack has a lot of fluidity. AIC to Mercyhurst, at least so far, appear they could go anywhere.
