Arcadia University To Begin Men's and Women's Hockey in Fall 2021

Arcadia University in Glenside, PA (north of Philly) will be starting new hockey programs. They will be funding the renovation of a local rink to accommodate their programs. Per the article, they will be seeking to have head coaches in place by December.

Arcadia is a DIII school in the MAC conference, so they will likely be competing in the UCHC with their fellow MAC ice hockey programs (Stevenson, King's, LVC, Wilkes and Alvernia). Manhattanville, which has been a MAC school, is returning to the Skyline Conference this fall.

EDITS: Alvernia, who is starting hockey this fall, is also in the MAC and UCHC. Wilkes, which was supposed to be in the UCHC last year competed as an independent. They are now listed as a UCHC Women's team on the conference website.

With Arcadia, there will be six MAC schools playing DIII hockey: Alvernia, Arcadia, King's, Lebanon Valley, Stevenson and Wilkes. With one more they could split from the UCHC conference and have their own autobid conference, though there is no indication that is imminent.

These are the MAC institutions currently without NCAA Ice Hockey:

Delaware Valley - Doylestown, PA
Desales - Center Valley, PA
Eastern - St. Davids, PA
FDU Florham - Madison, NJ
Hood - Frederick, MD
Lycoming - Williamsport, PA
Messiah - Grantham, PA
Misericordia - Dallas, PA
Widener - Chester PA [ACHA D3 men's club]
