Anyone from Vancouver

My wife and I will be taking the train from Toronto and spending 3-4 days in Vancouver in early June. We'll probably be staying at the Four Seasons. What are the can't miss places to visit? What are the best seafood restaurants? I can rent a car if we need one. Hiking is out because of my wife's health.

Thanks for any input.

Re: Anyone from Vancouver

Interesting! My wife, sister and I will be taking the train from Columbus, Wisconsin to spend about 6 days in Vancouver in late July/early August. I will also appreciate any responses. My wifes conference is in the convention center which is right downtown on the harbor, and although it's not known yet, we're hoping the hotel is there as well. We figured that much out from this map I found, which I thought was pretty nice. http://www.tourismvancouver.com/pdf/vancouver_map.pdf

gounhwildcats (Dean) is from Vancouver, I'll point him towards this thread.. I know he's on his way to the east coast for the Maine weekend, but I imagine he'd have some advice for you.

Re: Anyone from Vancouver

Hey Pro, why don't you check out your usual spots, Long John Silvers, Wendy's, McDonalds and the like. :p

Sounds like a fun trip. Best to you Gramps and your Grandma Missus.

Re: Anyone from Vancouver

Vancouver is a great city, but it has been over five years since my last visit, so someone who is better versed in the post-Olympics state of the city should fill you in. From what I remember though, I can recommend a walk through Gastown - it's Vancouver's version of an old gaslight district. Also, you must see Chinatown - I believe it is still the second largest Chinatown in North America (only San Francisco's is bigger).

Blue Water Raw Bar in Yaletown. Great place to eat before a Canucks game at Rogers Arena.

To the OP, Vancouver is a fantastic city, one of my favorite cities in the world. You will enjoy it, especially in summer.

Vancouver is such a Pan-Asian city, so from a seafood standpoint, I would recommend expanding the usual NW salmon experience to try some sushi as well. I love Toshi's Sushi, but there are many sushi places to consider:
