The Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey team ended the best season in program history with a 4-3 loss to the Cornell Big Red in the semifinals of the womens ECAC playoffs.
The Bobcats headed into the series following a sweep of the Princeton Tigers, but everyone saw a daunting task as the young Bobcats squad went up against the No. 2 team in the country.
While most saw a blowout, the bobcats skated with Cornell the whole game, also having another set of late heroics in the final five seconds that would have sent the game into overtime. The Bobcats never led in the game, but almost pulled even on more than one occassion.
With QU being kicked out last year in the quarters and this year the semis, things only look brighter for this team. Not a lot of Senior talent is leaving, showing that this squad will be as competitive if not more next season. Coach Rick Seeley has a lot to look foward to and makes the Bobcats want next season to come already so show that they haven't lost their edge.
