LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY EDGES OHIO FOR TOP SPOT
UNION LAKE, MI - The defending ACHA Men's Division 1 National Champions, Lindenwood University, suffered its first losses of the season, but managed to hold onto the top spot by the slimmest of margins, a mere 6 points The Lions were swept at home by #2 Ohio University, and have now lost three straight games to the Bobcats. Ohio actually received more first-place votes than Lindenwood (19 to 16), but a setback to Kent State probably kept them from overtaking the top spot. In addition to Ohio, Kent State also split with Illinois, actually shutting out the Fighting Illini in Champaign, IL on the Big Pond. Those splits against #2 Ohio and #3 Illinois allowed the Golden Flashes to be the polls big gainer, bounding up three spots from the last ranking to #14.
