A USCHO Classic - Chuck Murray's "Da Godfaddah"

A little over 10 years ago an instant classic appeared on the board when Chuck Murray authored "Da Godfaddah".

It dealt with the battles between the waring families of Hockey East and much like Puzo's book, there were "hits", intrigue, double dealing, questionable marriages "outside the family", and of course "The mighty Godfaddah" and his 2 sons - one smart and the other well ....

What made is so great was you could read between the lines and see the characters were based on some USCHO posters at the time. It was all done in good taste and everyone got a great chuckle out of it.

In the summer of 2006, at the urging of many, I convinced Chuck to re-post his Classsic. Again, it was a popular hit.

What do ya' think folks? Any of you oldtimers want to read it again .. or any of you new board members want to see a long ago board Classic?

Please leave comments ... depending on the number and type of responses I'll contact
Chuck. I know he still has "Da Godfaddah" saved.

Thanks ... Olddog

Or just dig up the old thread and bump it back to page 1...

USCHO purged all threads over two years old a few days ago (even those in the HoF).

They've gotta exist somewhere. The absolute loss of the thread from the morning of 9/11 would be a tragedy.

And even those that had been posted in recently.

And the nacho thread is gone, too.

I'd love to read some old time stuff. Give me more work distractions.

So there are now literally NO posts in the HoF. Impressive.

If you want to read the cached version of Da Godfaddah try here.

I remember reading the original as he posted pieces of it.

P.S. Get off my lawn!

Best. Thread. Evah. To this day. Every time I hear something about Brown, I think Maroon. :)

I agree. I have read through that thread many times. It has nothing to do with college hockey, but it it is (was?) most impressive from a historical point of view. Not that I have ever looked for it, but I have not seen another thread anywhere on the internet on 9/11 that was so poignant.

An interesting thing is how many people posted reports that they had heard which turned out not to have been true.
