Speaking of war torn nations...Gufex in Katerinice, Czech Republic edges out Vegum of Slovakia as the world leader in puck manufacturing. The Gufex advantage is their pucks are made of a mixture of galvanized rubber and carbon black and use the heat, pour and cool method as opposed to pultrusion. The Gufex advantage is huge... as they don't tend to leave black marks on the glass and boards.
Gufex has been the official supplier to the Winter Olympics since 1998 and more recently has become the official supplier to the IIHF for all world tournaments in Men's, Women's and Junior divisions.
