Four Gustavus Adolphus players were involved in an accident when their SUV collided with a minivan on the afternoon of Sunday August 20th. Police say one party failed to yield to a stop sign but did not say which.
There is one confirmed fatality: Jori Jones, a goalie getting ready for her sophomore season with the team.
The other players have been identified on Twitter/X as Gianna Gasparini, Kayla Bluhm and Lily Mortenson. All four are in the same class year.
Condolences to the Jones family and the GAC hockey family and prayers that the other 3 make full recoveries
Update: a local radio station is reporting that Gasparini was the driver and that she Mortensen and Bluhm were taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
