25/26 Schedules

Schedules thread

Here’s Mercyhurst

Welcome Delaware to their first season of D1 and joining AHA.

Hurst non conference includes:
UMD
UNH - away
SLU
UCONN
Stonehill (1) - neutral
Wisconsin (1) - neutral

This has got to be the the least ECAC non conf schedule they’ve ever played.

Some of that is playing more HE teams, some is the introduction of 4 games vs Delaware. UCONN was the HE reg season champ, that’s a fun series.

Everything I've learned about the 25-26 schedules for every team is in here

Wow, this is really useful - thanks.

Mercyhurst is playing an aggressive out of conference schedule for sure. Lots of teams in last year's top ten.
Yeah, it feels like Mercyhurst tends to play a great non-conference schedule, as does Penn State! I think last season Penn State's non-conference schedule was aggressive much like this. And then these two teams end up in the AHA championship game repeatedly.

Yes the spreadsheet is awesome. Many thanks.

I’ve always liked Hurst’s non conference schedules. They are blessed with a good mix of geography, conference size and an admin and coach willing to travel and play a good variety. I would call this years non conference schedule fresh - I expected Colgate and Cornell, and if not Clarkson, then RPI or Union. Fun to see the mix, to have 2 of the best WCHA teams, and some Hockey East in there.

The best non conf schedule prepares a team mathematically and Hockeywise to play in the national tourney, I certainly acknowledge that.

But I appreciate other parts of the college experience instead at this point, and also look for things like fall bus trips to the northeast to see the leaves, and winter trips to Minnesota. It’s pretty cool Hurst are making a return trip to Nashville. I like that the women get to play occasionally in some of the iconic rinks , or against iconic teams, Olympians and future hall of famers. This is why it surprises me to hear that teams don’t want to play Wisconsin.

As someone who grew up where buildings were no more than 50 years old it was something to visit the Ivies. Everything seemed so old and history rich to me. Meanwhile the European players probably can’t believe how new the “old” American buildings are. Anyway, the travel around the hockey parts of the US are all part of the college hockey experience, a less ruthless part of it.
