The argument that the "left has gotten more left" is such a goddamned tired trope. The white supremacists have dragged the entire Overton window so far to the right that anyone with even moderate positions looks like they're firmly leftist positions.
In fact, a bulk of AOC's Green New Deal that was called unrealistic were eventually pieced out and used in the Biden era Inflation Reduction Act because of the job development, push for energy diversification, and equity in economic policies. Still all dirty words to any R because there isn't enough soul crushing capitalism involved
It's essentially come down to do you want clean air, a free solar panel, and a tree planted in your front yard, or do you want to be beaten in the street by a LARP ICE agent who then shoots your dog and fucks your mother, and you stop to ask what kind of tree is going to be planted.
