2023-24 DIII Schedules

Plattsburgh dropped their schedule

Some notes:

UNE coming to town for the exhibition. I don't think these two programs have faced off at any level before...

Eau Claire will be at Middlebury for the Cardinal/Panther. They will play Plattsburgh on Day 1 and then either Middlebury or Endicott depending on how the Cardinal/Blugold and Middlebury/Endicott games shake out

First time since 2019 they have no guarantee of a game with Elmira before the NCAA tourney, and first time of no possibility of a game against Adrian before March since 2014-15...

Looks like Utica will be hosting a season-opening tourney according to Adrian's schedule.. Also, Adrian will be playing Williams and Bowdoin in... Charleston, SC?? Wow

A weekend tourney of Adrian, Elmira, Suffolk and Utica is no Cardinal/Panther or East/West of the past few years but will be good hockey and should be a good early indicator of where those teams are.

With the rumor of MSOE walking back their commitment to varsity hockey in 23-24, this could leave quite a few openings on NCHA team schedules.

After scouring multiple team sites, MSOE's conference schedule was to look like this:

Lawrence (Nov. 3, 4)
Adrian (Nov. 10, 11)
Dubuque (Nov. 17, 18)
SNC (Dec. 1, 2)
Trine (Jan 12, 13)
Marian (Jan 19, 20)
LFC (Jan 26, 27)
Aurora (Feb 2, 3)
CU-WI (Feb 9, 10)

This means that all these teams appear to have openings for 2 more games a piece. Unfortunately, with the additional inventory in the NCHA, the WIAC and MIAC scheduled quite a few more inter-conference games.

Just looking at West teams, it appears Gustavus and St. Kate's each has an opening for 1 more game, while Northland and Hamline have openings for 2, and that's it. Every other MIAC and WIAC team has a full slate.

Keep in mind...
-Hamline already has 2 games scheduled with SNC
-Northland already has 2 games scheduled with Lawrence and 2 with Aurora
-Gustavus already has 2 games scheduled with Aurora

The NCHA already has multiple games scheduled between conference opponents that are non-con games to fill out the schedule. I would bet there will be many more.

Has there been any update about what's going on at MSOE? When you go to their website and click on Schedule it shows you a photo of some ugly guy

I am not sure, but it is happening. The NCHA has removed MSOE from the women's portion of the website and off of the conference schedule. Adrian and Concordia-WI have released updated schedules already, filling them out with conference opponents.

Adrian has added a third game against both Lake Forest and Trine, while CUW has added a third game against Dubuque and a fourth(!!) game against Aurora. Whatever it is, what an ugly situation brought upon by MSOE.

There will be more non-con games between NCHA opponents. Marian has 3 openings, while Lawrence and Norbert still need 2 more games. Dubuque, Aurora, LFC, and Trine all have 1 opening a piece.

Hearing St. Norbert and Lawrence will be playing a non-conf. game, marking the 24th game for both those programs.

Also, looking like Trine will get another east region opponent, as they've scheduled Morrisville for their final game following the MSOE debacle.

I doubt we get any more, but with Marian still looking for a coach, they could schedule a couple NCHA non-conf. games last minute

Marian still has the 3 openings, while Lawrence, Dubuque, Aurora, Norbert, and Lake Forest have one more.

Marian has scheduled non-conference games against Norbert and Lawrence.

Aurora, Dubuque, Lake Forest, and Marian each with one opening each. In the rest of the west, GAC and Bethel have one opening, while Hamline has 2.

Lots of St. Catherine news, as itt appears the St. Kates-Dubuque series is off. UD replaces them with Northland, in what will probably be a much more competitive series. Also, St. Kates and Bethel will be a non-conf. matchup. The Wildcats have also replaced Albertus on their schedule with Salve Regina. Bad news for the Falcon program?

Marian and GAC fill out their schedules, with Marian heading to St. Peter to take on the defending champions in early January.
