2020 NCAA Championship Thread

UCBadger

Utica's original USCHO poster
Norwich keeps its shut-out streak alive, 3-0 over Hobart.

Norwich punches its ticket with the auto-bid, Hobart will get an at large bid.

Not living in the Mohawk Valley anymore, I wasn’t able to go to the game tonight. The live video feed goes down with six minutes remaining in the game and I miss watching them win the UCHC championship. Unbelievable. What timing.

A special thank you to whomever is responsible for moving the camera throughout the game. What an incredible job done making sure the camera was facing the opposite way of where the play was during the game. Ridiculous.

Pioneers#1.........well there is a name from the past! lol

Re: 2020 NCAA Championship Thread

Plymouth State defeats UMass-Dartmouth 6-2 and will represent MASCAC in the Tourney

Re: 2020 NCAA Championship Thread

St. Thomas wins the MIAC, 3-2.

This is very good news bracket-wise for the east teams, especially Utica and Norwich.

And Wisconsin-Eau Claire wins the WIAC championship. If I'm reading things correctly, that puts UWEC and Lake Forest in the tournament as at larges.

We're down to three teams for the final two spots: Trinity or Wesleyan for the NESCAC and Trinity or Babson for the final at large.

Where have you been hiding?

Oh I’ve been around the forum reading here and there don’t you worry ;)

Stupid question but I haven’t been around since the days of the ECAC West. I watched some of the Norwich-Hobart game tonight and I was wondering what the chances are that Norwich sees Utica in the NCAA tournament? Also, will Utica get to host an NCAA game at home or will this all be decided on Monday when the brackets are released and nobody knows yet? Thank you in advance!

Utica will host at least 1 and possibly 2 NCAA games. They are the #1 seed. Norwich and Utica wouldnt run into eachother until the final 4.

Re: 2020 NCAA Championship Thread

Utica hosting 2 NCAA games would only happen if all the byes go out west and Utica has a first round game next weekend.

St. Thomas beat Concordia, meaning the St. Thomas-Lake Forest-UW-Eau Claire pod is possible, so Utica, along with Norwich and Geneseo, should have byes

Re: 2020 NCAA Championship Thread

....and Hobart hosts Adrian?

That's right, currently we're looking at:

Plymouth State @ Endicott, winner to Utica
Babson @ Trinity, winner to Norwich
Adrian @ Hobart, winner to Geneseo
St. Thomas @ Lake Forest, winner to UW-Eau Claire.

Assuming Trinity wins, you may flip them and Endicott based on how much Trinity's RPI goes up, and if Wesleyan wins, we're looking at something different entirely, but this is how we're looking right now

Re: 2020 NCAA Championship Thread

When would Utica be able to host any games? The Aud has AHL hockey next Friday the 13th. at 7, MASL (indoor soccer) Saturday at 7, and Sunday at 2. The following week they have the AHL on the 20th at 7, soccer on Saturday at 7 and AHL at 3 on Sunday the 22nd.

Sunday @ 7??

The Adrian/Hobart/Geneseo pod is the Group of Death.
