2018 Minnesota Twins: Sano doubt, we like big Buxton and we cannot lie!

Trying to build off of last season’s wildcard appearance and, to no one’s surprise, a postseason loss to the New York Yankees.

Opening day today!

Jake Odorizzi gets the start today. 2:05 first pitch.

I love the bats throughout the lineup. Pitching still scares me a little. Glad they tried improving the rotation and bullpen. Still missing the big time ace— or are they?:)

Buy bleacher seats to catch the HR balls??

Grossman and Kepler are weak spots in our lineup. Unless they show growth this season, I'd be in the market for replacements.

I dont count catcher, as I'll take defense over offense there.

Escobar provides fielding versatility, so he gets a break for that. Otherwise he's replacement level to me as a hitter.

Rosario was robbed of a homer. Great play.

Throwing a few more pitches than you’d like to see, but 0 ER, 2H, 1BB, and 5K through 4 innings.

Great start for the bullpen...

A nice, 6 inning shutout start from Odorizzi and then Zach Duke comes in and gives up 2 runs.

Bats need to get going, though.

Grossman with a 2 out, 2 RBI single to tie the game! Beautiful!

Tough start to the year there for the bullpen..

Thoughts on pinch hitting Grossman for Buxton? Ended up working well but I’m hoping they have confidence in Buxton and he can continue his improvement in the batter’s box.
Without looking at the stats, my guess is that Grossman is better at making contact than Buxton. So 2 outs in the 9th Molitor went with getting the ball in play instead of a strikeout.

The alternate possibility is Molitor was hoping for the HR ball.

Also, im blacked out of Orioles games. So i have to watch the games after they are over. :(

Are you far from Baltimore?

I know some friends who get so frustrated in Iowa as they blackout a bunch of games, such as the Cubs and Royals.

Interested to see if Kyle Gibson is able to keep his late season form of last year, or if he’ll be throwing glorified BP again.

Twins bats feasting on the Orioles again today. Good to see.

2-1 and the starting pitchers have given up 0 ER through 21 innings pitched. Excellent weekend.
