2015 Frozen Four Finalists

Re: 2015 Frozen Four Finalists

It will be Ridder Arena. The formula looks to be three East, and one West. It will be the west's turn that year.

After that, Herb Brooks again if they bid. They have the process nailed down.

3 sites for 4 years. Who doubles up?

Also folks, think about what is in or around the building in mid March.

If Ridder gets it, hopefully they don't delay the D3 tourney a week again, so that maybe we can catch some NCHC or WCHA tourney action as well. B1G will be in Detwat that year.

Think about Lake Placid. That will be a one week delay.

What that could/should mean is that the first round and quarters will be a week apart instead of crammed together as they are under the current format.

Re: 2015 Frozen Four Finalists

Ridder - not only because it's in the "west", for those out East it's an easy flight into MSP airport, not like trying to take puddle jump planes to get anywhere. You can even get by without a rental car, just take the train downtown :)

Re: 2015 Frozen Four Finalists

Two "been there already" finalists and a new finalist? I would not write off Utica......unless, of course, the "new ownership" of the Aud spoils the bid.

Re: 2015 Frozen Four Finalists

From the article:

2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018?

(2015, 2018) does not equal [2015, 2018] but (2015, 2018) does equal ]2015, 2018[

It would appear that what is meant is [2015, 2018)

Prof your thoughts ;)

Your guess is as good as mine in that regard, but yes, I expect they meant [2015,2018), which is also the same as as [2015,2017] considering all of the data consists of integers :D

Re: 2015 Frozen Four Finalists

Yeah, but that is only for the Division I sites. DIII has 3 bidders to host men's championships (no year(s) specified..

You are such a spoiler :p

Speaking of the NCAA- here are some Facts and Figures:

Approximately 40.2 percent of NCAA student-athletes compete at Division III institutions.

NCAA BUDGET ALLOCATION: 3.18 percent of NCAA operating budget, which equals approximately $26 million in 2013-14.

I've seen (and complained about) that before. It is outrageous. The big boys would never miss another 10 mill or so to fund bigger fields for championships in D3, and maybe even end the silly "no fly zone" they try to enforce for the first two rounds in our sport.

The NCAA operating budget is approximately $817.61 million (26/.0318), boosting their budget allocation by 1.2% to 4.38% would give them that $10 million, but would they maintain there status as the pillar of sportsmanship? :o

The most recent audited financials - http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/public/NCAA/Finances/NCAA+consolidated+financial+statements - as long as the revenues flow like they do, allocating money based upon participation is a dream....
