2014 Quinnipiac Bobcats off season

Just wanted to throw a thought out there. Obviously those who follow our recruits realize how strong our recruiting class is and we expect some of them to contribute immediately (Smith, Piepers, etc). Do we think other coaches don't necessarily think that those kids will contribute immediately and that's why they voted us lower than we all think we are or is it because the coaches in the ECAC don't really recruit our guys (we compete for recruits with HE schools more so than ECAC schools) and so they don't really know our incoming kids. Or do the coaches just not really give a crap and vote whatever they feel haha

Edit: Rand is probably happy we were voted 5 instead of 2 or 3

You forgot to throw Tanner MacMaster on that list and the Renoufs. I think other coaches see what QU lost up front in terms of scoring and think that it will take at least a half season for the freshman to get going hence the 5th place finish they are predicting.

I could've listed everyone but chose against it hahaha. Yes macmaster and piepers will also be in the lineup against Bentley

Also can anyone else find info on JST and BVB? Haven't played in any preseason games but I haven't seen anything that tells me they were reassigned from camp. Guess they're still with the teams and just haven't seen the ice yet

Van Brabant is playing tonight against the Canucks. End of the 2nd he's played 4:33

Hartzell, JST, and BVB all sent to their AHL teams. So the next question is who is the next former Bobcat to step on the NHL ice?

Re: 2014 Quinnipiac Bobcats off season

Hey guys, long time no speak to! We're getting closer and closer to that time of the year again, so I figured I would check back in here with all of my QU Hockey diehards. Just purchased standing room tickets for the Bentley, Lowell, Cornell and Union games. Would have liked to get Yale tickets, but of course they were sold out before they went on sale, again.

Either way, very excited for this season to begin. I know Larson, Thx and myself are certainly looking forward to getting back to our old college stomping grounds!

Go Bobcats!

Re: 2014 Quinnipiac Bobcats off season

Quinnipiac is in the process of finalizing a bid to bring the annual Ice Breaker Tournament to High Point Solutions area in October 2016. The annual tournament brings together top teams from four different conferences and marks the traditional start to the college hockey season. Quinnipiac athletic director Jack McDonald said the deadline to submit bids is next month, with a winner picked by Dec. 1. Typically held in larger arenas, often at off-campus sites, High Point Solutions Arena would be one of the smallest venues in the 18-year history of the tournament. Exempted from the NCAA limit of 34 games (meaning participating teams can play the Ice Breaker in addition to its 34-game schedule,) it should attract top teams from Hockey East and the Big 10.

Langlois looked good tonight for Worcester at the Bank. 2 goals and Worcester stormed back to beat the Wolpack in a shoutout. We're down 4-1 in the third

Awesome! Also, a really cool thing that Hartford plays its home preseason games at some smaller rinks around the state. Glad they've now used The Bank twice in the last three years.

Re: 2014 Quinnipiac Bobcats off season

Looking forward to getting back to the Bank and seeing what we're made of this season. Plenty of talent on paper... the key will be how quickly the new guys find their place. It's gonna be a fun season for sure!

Go Q!
